May Beauty Favorites

Now that we’re almost half-way through June, I figured I better put up my May favorites (better late than never right?). I have been obsessed with these products lately, and using them everyday I do wear makeup. It’s getting hot here in Minnesota and I definitely am not wearing nearly as much makeup as the colder months, or even as often. I am though working on my fool proof (or should I say sweat proof) summer time everyday makeup look. So make sure to keep an eye out for that post coming soon!

In the line up for this months favorites I have quite a few items that can (with a little work) be a complete face of makeup!

Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Define and Fill Duo

If you couldn’t tell from the worn off label, I use this nearly everyday! Brows are definitely one of the things I like to do everyday whether I’m putting on a full face or just going (mostly) natural for the day. This was the first eyebrow pencil I ever used and I’ve never strayed from it since. Maybelline is a great drugstore brand, and the color selection they have is phenomenal. I particularly enjoy this eyebrow pencil because 1) you don’t have to sharpen it 2) the product comes out as a thin line 3) it’s double sided, one side is a pencil, one side is powder. This eyebrow pencil is the best of both worlds!

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara & Benefit Roller Lash

I have NO SHAME in saying that I am for sure a mascara Junkie, whenever I see one on sale or with pretty packaging I have to pick it up. Not only that, but I have all of my favorites back stocked in my makeup collection! On days I’m rushing out the door, I love using the Roller Lash by Benefit. It separates and lengthens my lashes more than most other mascaras, and is one step. I like using the L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara on top of the roller lash on days I wear a full face of makeup, this makes my eyelashes pop out even more!

Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer

Next up in the line up we have Too Faced Hangover Rx Primer, perfect for summer and the hotter months we have ahead of us. I know there is nothing I hate more than my makeup lasting two seconds after I walk out the door. This primer not only is extremely moisturizing (thank you coconut water!) but it also really makes my makeup last and look dewy all day long!

Tarte Shape Tape

If you’ve read any kind of beauty blog, watched and Youtube beauty Guru, or have stepped foot in and Ulta or Sephora, there is no doubt about it that you’ve heard just how wonderful this concealer truly is. When I first heard all the hype about this concealer all I could think was “really, a $24 concealer, I’m sure my Maybelline Fit Me is just fine”. Though I really do love my Maybelline concealer, I was so wrong. This Tarte Shape Tape concealer has changed me (is that too dramatic?). I love this so much I bought a second one in a darker color for the summer! This goes on so well, and gives me a fuller coverage look without having to put on foundation. If there is one thing you need from my May Favoirtes, this is definitely the one.

pur Cosmetics 4 in 1 Pressed Mineral Powder

Personally, I think pur cosmetics is highly overlooked in the beauty world. Honestly before Ulta’s 21 days of beauty sale, I never once thought about purchashing anything from this brand. 4 in 1 is a pretty high claim if you ask me, claiming to:

  • Correct prevent and interrupt skin concerns
  • Smooth away  lines and wrinkles
  • Plump, lift and firm the skin’s appearance
  • Balance uneven skin tone

For me honestly, I only bought this to test out and frankly I had run out of my Maybelline fit me pressed powder and wanted to see if there was a difference between the drugstore and high-end cosmetics. I find this works very well for my skin, I have not yet used it alone, but could imagaine it would work well. For me, I use this to help make my concealer last all day, and between the Too Faced primer and this, I have had no problems.

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

I. LOVE. THIS. BRONZER. If there’s one thing I wanna put on everyday, this bronzer has got to be it! Not only do I feel like I’m on a tropical vacation every time I put this on (hello, coconut and paradise scent, never leave me) but it works so well on my pale skin. I had been eying this product up for months before committing to purchasing it, and let me tell you, I have no regrets buying this. Recently, I’ve been gravitating towards this bronzer over both my Benefit Hoola and Hoola Lite Bronzers! If you have pale skin this is a must try, but honestly this can build up to work on just abut any skin tone.

The Balm Cosmetics The Manizer Sisters, AKA the “Luminzers”

To be honest, I bought this cheek palette after falling in love with the highlighter Mary Luminzer by the Balm Cosmetics. This is fairly condensed palette and good to travel with, but I hardly find myself reaching for the other two shades unless I am traveling. I would say if you are wanting to try this brand out, this cheek palette is a good deal because you’re getting three for a more reduced priced. Overall I would just recommend purchasing Mary Lou-Manizer by itself, as I find myself reaching for this highlight on the daily!

I know my May favorites are going up a  bit (or a lot) late, but I have been loving so much fun and new makeup this June so far and cannot wait to show you my favorites and maybe some I didn’t love so much. Let me know what your favorites have been recently!

As always, I hope you have a very lovely day, and let me know if you have any request, recommendations or feedback!

Sincerely,

Mackenzie
